Goldoni History

In order to understand who Goldoni is and the reasons for it's success it is useful to know some things about the country and area where it was established and developed.

Italy is a densely populated country consisting of approximately 120,432 sq. miles, 1/3 of which is towns, villages, and roads. The other 2/3s of Italy is equally high mountains or plains and lower hills. It has a narrow long shape with such drastically different geological characteristics that almost every kind of agriculture can be practiced on its soil. Goldoni is situated in the North of Italy at Capri - Modena province - an area with a strong tradition for mechanics (Modena is the town of industries such as Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, De Tomaso and so on), that has given Goldoni the possibility to utilize all its exceptional human resources and expertise.

That being said, Goldoni was established in 1926 starting with the production of irrigation pumps. At the beginning of the fifties, with a consolidated experience Goldoni began to change its production entering strongly into the field of agricultural machinery.

In the sixties motor mowers and walking tractors were introduced into the production line changing farmers work into a more effortless and productive chore. In the following decade the first articulated tractor was introduced representing a real "revolution" in the cultivation of orchards, vineyards, and the growing of vegetables.

At that moment, Goldoni became the first and most important producer for those in need of specialized tractors. Goldoni's production capabilities became able to satisfy all different needs and give a "tailor made" product, not only to the Italian farmers but also to all Europe and even world wide. It is this strength that is the strength of the true pioneers. Its product is never the result of a compromise, but of precise analysis of farmers and their specific applications. For any request, Goldoni has always a specific answer. Goldoni does not modify an old tractor by making it shorter or narrower for a modest result. Goldoni creates new models for each specific application.

Today Goldoni is a modern company that looks at the future, keeping always in mind it's vast and extensive experience and sturdy traditions. Goldoni with its 380 factory employees and with a turnover of 65 million dollars is the European leader in the field of specialized agriculture such as orchards, vineyards, vegetables, and nurseries. Whoever needs a special tractor knows that turning to Goldoni will get the right answer. It isn't by chance that John Deere, since 1986, has turned to Goldoni for cultivators to fill their line for specialized applications.
